A NEW BOOK SHINES LIGHT ON THE DISEASE AFFECTING TENS OF MILLIONS OF WOMEN

EndoFound founder and author, Dr. Tamer Seckin offers endometriosis sufferers hope in the new book

February 29, 2016 (New York, NY) – March is Endometriosis Awareness Month and Dr. Tamer Seckin wants women afflicted with endometriosis to know three things: they are not alone, their pain is real, and there is hope. With the release of his new book, The Doctor Will See You Now: Recognizing and Treating Endometriosis (Turner Publishing, 9781681621128), Dr. Seckin hopes that every woman and a young girl who has endometriosis will finally get correctly diagnosed and appropriately treated for this debilitating disease.

The Doctor Will See You Now weaves in stories from 23 courageous women who have endometriosis. “These stories are meant to empower and show women they are not alone in their struggles with this disease as well as provide the knowledge and confidence so they can advocate for themselves and others as together we create a long over-due awareness about this dreadful disease,” said Dr. Seckin.

As founder of the Endometriosis Foundation of America EndoFound) with Padma Lakshmi, host of the popular Bravo Series Top Chef, Dr. Seckin continually strives to raise awareness and emphasize the critical value of surgical excision of endometriosis. Padma, also one of his patients, offers a foreword for The Doctor Will See You Now, in which she notes, “We can do something about endometriosis. If you have this disease or think you might have it, The Doctor Will See You Now is a good place to start your road to recovery.”

The Doctor Will See You Now is written at a level that everyone with ties to endometriosis can relate to and understand, but it is also for doctors with good intentions who lack the knowledge of how to diagnose or treat it. The book’s inspiring text is purposefully crafted so that every reader can relate to and understand endometriosis not only medically, but also emotionally. That includes every woman and young girl who has it, and the women and men in their lives – the mothers, fathers, husbands, children, and friends – who know something is wrong but do not know what it is or what to do about it.
